چکیده
Abstract During the last decades, research on biological activities of extracts from Cimicifuga / Actaea species and Petasites japonicus as well their active ingredients has been intensified. Besides terpenoids dominant natural product group, hydroxycinnamic acid esters such fukinolic several cimicifugic acids have isolated chemical structures elucidated. Investigations properties these are currently undertaken some compounds might be promising therapeutic tools. In this review, we gathered information genera , occurrence aspects biosynthesis. Furthermore, summarized medicinal acids. connection with compounds, structural features derivatives move into focus. The position hydroxyl group at aromatic rings introduction an electron-donating moiety may important for anti-inflammatory, antiviral, cytotoxic vasoactive effects compounds.

Effects of fukinolic acid and cimicifugic acids from Cimicifuga species on collagenolytic activity.
The inhibitory collagenolytic activity (47-64% inhibition in 0.22-0.24 microM) of fukinolic acid and cimicifugic acids A, B, and C, which are esters of fukiic acid (3',4'-dihydroxybenzyl tartaric acid) was more potent than that (20-37% inhibition in 0.23-0.24 microM) of cimicifugic acids D, E, F, which are esters of pscidic acid (4'-hydroxybenzyl tartaric acid). Since fukiic acid showed weaker ...
متن کاملBlack cohosh (Cimicifuga racemosa L.) protects against menadione-induced DNA damage through scavenging of reactive oxygen species: bioassay-directed isolation and characterization of active principles.
The roots/rhizomes of Cimicifuga racemosa L. (Nutt.) (black cohosh) have traditionally been used to treat menopausal symptoms through an unknown mechanism of action. In an effort to determine if black cohosh had additional health benefits, methanol extracts were investigated for their potential to scavenge reactive oxygen species and to protect against menadione-induced DNA damage. These extrac...

Background: The treatment of acute promyelocy!c leukemia with all-trans-re!noic acid (ATRA) some!mes results in a syndrome characterized by fever, respiratory distress, weight gain, pleural or pericardial effusion, and pulmonary infiltrates. We report the major clinical and radiologic features of ATRA syndrome. Materials and Methods: In the past, occasional case reports and literature pertainin...
متن کامل[Studies on the constituents of Cimicifuga species].
The chemical constituents of Cimicifuga simplex and its related species were reexamined using HPLC and high resolution spectral analysis. From C. simplex, C. acerina and C. japonica, a new alkaloid, 59 new cycloartane triterpene glycosides and 11 new aromatic constituents were isolated with the previously reported compounds. The latter aromatic constituents were identified in HPLC analysis of t...
متن کاملMetabolic Effects of Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids in Chickens: A Review
Chicken has been used as a suitable model for lipid metabolism studies, because dietary modifications especially dietary fat type can change chicken body composition. Fats act as a condense source of energy and certain fatty acids such as polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) are required for both animal and human health. The n-3 PUFAs, especially, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic ...
